Obituary

On September 2, 1966 Lamont was born in Brooklyn New York to the late Helen Robinson and raised by his beloved maternal grandmother. He receive his initial education in the public schools of Brooklyn, New York. Immediately after high school he made the decision to serve in the United States Army. He completed basic training in 1986 and served with distinction in the 18th Airborne Corps Special Operations Medic Desert Storm. He moved up in the ranks and became a specialist E-4 Robinson where received numerous of badges and service awards which includes: Southwest Asia Service Medal (with three bronze service stars); Kuwait Liberation Metal; Expert Hand Grenade and Rifle M-16 Badges; Army Accommodation Metals and Expert Field Medical Badge. LaMont also served with United States Airborne Special Forces. During his time serving he loved jumping out of planes.
Lamont educational accomplishments during his military services included Medical Specialist Emergency, Medical Technician Advanced Cardiac Lift Support, and Practitioner Nurse Certification. He received an honorable discharge in January of 1989, then re-enlisted an extended period of service to our country where he received a second honorable discharge in 1995. He continued working in the field of nursing until he transitioned into eternal rest.                    
Within the community, one of his cherished affiliation was being a Mason. He was a member of Eagle Lodge number 129, Israel Lodge 138, Sunshine Commandery No.2, Mt. Sinai No. 1, and Mt. Hiram No. 1. Upon completing the final degree as a Mason he became a Shriner. As Shriner he enjoyed life, he participated in parades, trips, dances, dinners, sporting events, and other social occasions. LaMont loved given back to the community. 
Also known as Monti by his wife, he was known for his love of football and boxing. As the years progress, he took a liking to gardening where planted and watched his roses grow. He adored his wife and found joy each time they were able to spend time together. They traveled to many parts of The Caribbean and The Mediterranean — boy, he loved taking pictures. Each trip he will return with over 300 pictures to share with his family and friends. 
Treasured memories will remain with his faithful and devoted wife: Brenda Robinson of the home; his loving children: Tasha Fountain of Shreveport, LA, Gregory Griffin of Shreveport, LA, Misty Griffin of Shreveport LA, Lisa Robinson of Shreveport, LA, Shawn Robinson (Jaide) of Dallas, TX, LaMont Robinson, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Adon Padgett (Hannah) of Newport,, VA and Nakai Padgett of Shreveport, LA; his wonderful grandchildren; his caring siblings: La-Chan Banks of Rock Mount, NC, Robert Banks (Deborah) of Hickory, NC, Cyrlette Banks of Greensboro, NC, Willette Jones (Mark) of Whittakers, NC, Crystal Cradle (Sean) of Queens, NY, Virginia Banks of Mississippi, Bobby Green of Burlington, NC; his beloved in-laws; his favorite aunt: Barbara Bryant (Charlie) of Suffolk, VA, with special ties to cousins: Christopher Bryant, Charles Bryant and Charlene Bryant; his best friend: Robert L. Johnson, Jr. of Shreveport LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
