A retired employee of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board and a skilled roofer, he died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 73, a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home Saturday, July 3, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Morris Jackson. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. He is survived by five daughters, Carolyn and husband Otis Toussaint, Wanda and husband Mark Lastrapes, Cynthia and husband William Butler, Brenda Allen and April Brown; three sons, William III and wife Carmie Brown, Anthony and wife Cassandra Brown and Darryl and wife Margaret Brown; three sisters, Mary Foster, Martha Batiste and Daisy Provost; two brothers, Charles and Joseph Brown; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a special nephew whom he reared, Joseph Brown.
