We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mrs. Verna M. Williams 66, of Shreveport, La.
A beautiful rose has been picked from the garden of life - Sister Verna M. Williams was born on April 3, 1951 to the late George and Janie Clark Price in Westdale, La. She was reared by her late grandparents, Earl and Almetta Clark of Kingston, La. She answered the Master's call and ended a sweet and peaceful life on June 8, 2017 with her loving daughter Sere' by her side.
She graduated from Second Ward High School; upon completion of high school, she continued her education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science.
She taught 29 plus years providing serve in Red River, Desoto and Caddo Parishes; where she served as a pillar in the educational field to many students. She was affectionately known by her students as "Ms. V".
While attending Southern University, she lived with her Aunt Odelia P. Lewis in Rosedale, La.; which whom she affectionately called her third mother.
Later in life she met and married Charles Ray Williams on October 07, 1978; to this union they were blessed with two daughters, Latosha Nicole and Latressa Sere' Williams.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Kingston, La. When she was asked to participate or serve on a program or needed in any capacity, she gladly rendered her services.
She leaves to mourn her death two daughters: Latosha N. (Michael) and Latressa S. Williams (Carlos); two granddaughters: Nakyhia Moran, Lake Cockerham. Brothers: Nolan (Dora) Price, Darryl (Pam) Waller and Clarence (Hattie) Pryer. A sister: Linda (Wade) Cousin.

(Willie) Griszell of New York; Uncles: Wilbert Poindexter and Juno Clark of Shreveport, La.; Raymon (Darlene) Pryer of Maringouin, La.; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins other family and friends. Special friends: Betty Walpool, Ola M. Wayne and Linda Rasberry.
Preceded in death by parents George and Janie B. Price; Grandparents, Thelma Clark, Earl and Almetta Clark.
