A retired fabrication supervisor for Inland Steel Co. and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Promise Specialty Hospital. He was 89 and a native of Scotland. Visiting at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. George C. Pierce. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. He is survived by a loving daughter, two loving grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He leaves to mourn a host of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and others. He had a loving friend. Sylvester has joined his wife, parents, grandchildren, sisters, brothers and other relatives in heaven. They can walk together around heaven all day.
