Funeral Services will be celebrated Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at the New Hope #1 Baptist Church of Hanna, LA. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery. A visitation will be convened at the church on the preceding Saturday evening from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. OBITUARY Robert Perkins (also known as Bob ) was born in Jordan Ferry on June 18, 1943 to the late Alford and Ada Perkins. He was the fifth of ten children. Robert received Christ in his mid life and was baptized by the late Rev. Mose Williams at the New Hope #1 Baptist Church of Hanna, LA in August of 1995. Robert was a bus driver for Red River Parish School Board for 28 years and a Justice of the Peace for Red River Parish for a period of 30 years. Robert met and married Helen Calhoun Perkins on June 20, 1966. Preceding him in death was one grandchild, Charles Hyams, Jr.; four brothers, Will Perkins, Jack Perkins, B. T. Hill and Alford Perkins and one sister, Verna Mae Russell. He leaves to mourn his precious memories his wife, Helen Perkins, three sons, Randy Perkins (Polly) of Coushatta, Larry Perkins (Shalonda) of Coushatta and Michael Perkins (Dennise) of Coushatta; four daughters, Tracy Perkins (Donald) of Coushatta, Margaret Perkins of Coushatta, Sonya Richardson (Daniel) of Houston, Texas and Peggy Cohen (Travis) of Natchitoches, LA; one brother, Authur Cooper, three sisters, Dottie Perkins of California, Teresa Hall of California and Ada Mae Taylor (Johnny) of Houston, TX; 24 grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
