We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Robert Howie 61, of Shreveport, La.
Robert was born on July 15, 1956 in Shreveport, LA to Preston Ross Jr. and Betty Breda Howie Leary.
Brother Robert left the cares of this world behind and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 while at Shumpert Hospital in Shreveport, LA, he was lovingly surrounded by family and friends. Robert was proceeded in death by Grandmother Alma Gay Shaw, Grandfather James Breda, Father Preston Ross, Jr., Step- Father Eddie Leary, Jr., Aunts; Ella Breda, Yvonne Curtis, and Uncles; Hubert, Sidney and Jessie Breda also, Special Cousins; Cynthia Breda and Yvette Mims.
Robert attended Bethune High School and Fair Park High School in the 70's in Shreveport, LA. Robert retired from The Quaker Oil – Shell Subsidiary Companies. Robert was an advent and very accomplished worker where he served for more than 20 years in the hospitality industry. He led an exemplary life and was the manager of family owned rental properties in the Mooretown area. Robert later went on to establish Howie's Home Improvements where he served many satisfied customers, clients, business associates and employees, and of which he proudly performed in for over 10 years up until the time of his death.
Robert was a born again Christian when he united with Refreshing Point Ministries under the leadership of Dr. Rick Layton where he served faithfully as an Usher and help to perform various job projects under Pastor Layton.
Robert had a servant's heart and was always willing to help others. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor to all who knew and met him.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories and will be greatly missed by mother, Mrs. Betty Leary; daughter, Regina Rashell; son, Jaasan Roberson; sister, Josie M. Howie of Houston, brothers, Willie Charles Howie (Cherry), Alton Ross, Rodney Ross, of Shreveport, La. and Kevin Ross, Louis Johnson Jr. and Astro Johnson, of Dallas, Texas, Aunts: Ora Lynch, Tonia Garner, Willie Mae Ross, Mary Evelyn Hardy, Foster Aunts; Sonya Lily, Ernestine Chambers and Special Cousins; Lois Pratt and Jacqueline Fuggins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
