1 I love you, LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
PETE JACKSON was born January 18, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the parentage of the late Buford Jackson, Sr. and the late Janie Thomas Jackson. He departed this life to enter eternal rest on May 13, 2023.
He graduated from Bethune High School, Shreveport, LA in 1970. He later entered in the United States Air Force where he served for 5 years as a Weather Equipment Specialist and ranked as a Sergeant. He was honorably discharged and resided in Dallas, TX, where he attended DeVry Technical Institute and focused his career on meteorological equipment and computers. He also had a fondness for art, drawing and music. He enjoyed cooking for family. After living in Dallas for several years, he returned to Shreveport, which was his final resting place.
The last few years, Pete stayed at Harmony House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Inc. where he was beloved by the staff, for which we are extremely grateful for the time, care, and patience shown. A special thanks to family and friends for your support throughout the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jackie Ray Jackson and Donnie Ray Jackson.
He is survived by two sisters: Jimmie Ruth Whitehurst-Allen of Dallas, TX and Hester Jean Jackson of Shreveport, LA; two nephews and three nieces; and a host of relatives to cherish his memory.
