Memorial services honoring Mr. Oscar Lee 'Babe' Campbell, 76, of Bossier City, will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Winnfield Funeral Home, 3701 Hollywood Ave. Shreveport, LA from 10:00 am - 11:15 am. Graveside memorial and interment will immediately follow at 12:00 noon at Hillcrest Cemetery on Highway 80 in Bossier City. Mr. Oscar, as he was so often referred to as, passed away at Intensive Specialty Hospital on September 23, 2021, from cardiac arrest following a lengthy illness.
He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 0450 in Shreveport, LA, a double retiree of Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric and AT&T) and the Bossier Parish Highway Department, and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Benton, LA.
To forever cherish and honor his memory and legacy are his wife of 33 years, Valerie K. Campbell; two daughters, Tamika D. (Jerry) Campbell, and Vallarie Campbell, both of Shreveport; grandson, Jerry O. Batts, of Shreveport; brothers, Barry Campbell and his children and grandchildren, and Pastor Patrick (Kim) Campbell and their children and grandchildren; sister, Sharon Campbell Johnson Blake, all of Palmdale, CA; godson, Brandon D. Bryant of Temple, TX; God sister, Janette (Kevin) Mills of Shreveport; sister-in-law, Gerri K. Williams of Benton, LA; and many close relatives and friends.
