A resident of Baker and a native of Osyka, Miss., he died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at 3:45 a.m. at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary. He was 63. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 23, from noon until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Mark Dillard, pastor. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Marzettie Berry Shropshire; daughter, Sylvia Daniels; five sons, Aaron Shropshire, Nathaniel Shropshire Jr., Antione Deemer, Lawrence Berry and Troy Berry; three sisters, Annie Coleman, Rose Shropshire and Mary Owens; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and godchildren, Juanicka Trusclair, Karlencia Calvin, Jericka James and Tamika Piper. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Shropshire; father, Lee Taplin Sr.; brother, Lee Taplin Jr.; and son, Gregory Shropshire.
