Obituary

We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mrs. Nadine Brooks Clark 97, of Shreveport, La. On November 1, 1925 a beautiful baby girl was born to Boston and Martha Brooks in Frierson, Louisiana. She was named Nadine, the youngest of twelve children. The baby girl grew and bloomed into school age. Nadine began her education in Desoto Parish. She went back to Second Ward High School and tested at Centenary College and received her High School Diploma on May 8, 1977. Nadine united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Deacon Roy Clark on December24, 1940. God blessed this union with five children: R.C, Katie B., Uredell, Hazel, and Shirley Jean. She reared a niece, Alice Brooks Triggs, as her daughter. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Mariah Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Sam Price. After baptism, her religious work began. Nadine was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, Baptist Training Union worker, President of Pastor Aide, Choir Member, Mission Member and served in many more auxiliaries. She strived for GLORY early in the morning with several women of God. Nadine was a woman of strength and compassion who loved her family dearly. Her kindness and generosity were shown through her delicious baked goods and handcrafted quilting for family and friends. Her specialty was to bake homemade biscuits, sweet potato pies and teacakes. She expressed her love to all of her grandchildren. Some were blessed to be reared by her, an organized woman with a beautiful spirit, in her home. Nadine was preceded in death by: Roy Clark (husband); R.C, Katie B., and Shirley Jean (children); one great grandchild; Boston and Martha Brooks (parents); Siblings; Alice Triggs (niece); aunts; uncles; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
