Obituary

We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Kate T. Williams Dont let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Fathers home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. John 14:1-3. On that precious day the Heavenly Father God opened the pearly gates of Heaven looking down to confirm her name in the "Lamb Book of Life" stating "Well done my good and faithful servant" then Kate Teal Williams-Williams stepped in entering into enteral rest at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was 98 years blessed. Kate Teal Williams-Williams was born in Pleasant Hill, a community near Arcadia, Louisiana to the union of the late Mike Williams and Penny Quarles Williams on April 12, 1923. Kate accepted Christ at an early age of 9 years old and was baptized at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. She later united as 1st Lady under the leadership of her husband Rev. D. Douglas Williams, Pastor of Mary Gould Baptist Church, in Frierson, Louisiana. Midlife, Rev. D. Douglas and Kate united their family into fellowship with Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Dr. E. Edward Jones. In her later years Kate renewed and dedicated membership at her home church Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a spiritually devoted and God-fearing woman who exhibited her love and commitment to her family and community through many of the gestures and acts of generosity. Kate was preceded in death by Rev. D. Douglas Williams (Williams of Frierson, La), her beloved husband for many years; sisters: Beatrice Williams-Davis, Ruthie Williams-Knox, Mildred Williams, Florida Mae Anderson, Margaret Jones, and Maud Williams; and brothers; Lee Williams, Calvin Williams, and Glen Williams. Precious daughters Sarah Williams-Raven and Litifred Delores Williams; Grandson Alvin T. Williams. Left to cherish her precious memories and continue her legacy of excellence is sister Willie Earnestine Simmons; son: Willie (Veron) Knox; six daughters: Dianne Williams, Maxine Williams Moore (Louis), Alma Ruth Head, Connie Williams-Stewart (Frank), Carolyn Houston, and Louvada Jones, eighteen grandchildren: Patrick Knox, Jerald Knox, Luberta Williams, Cheryl Raven, Detricia Bradley (Troy Sr.), Tracey Williams (Shaunte), Cynthia Haynes, Tuesday Mahoney (Derrick), Raquel Williams, Marcus "Arenbe" Williams, Jacqueline Head, Jevada Jones, Xavier Williams, Jasmine Jones, Jeremy Jones, Kimberly Williams, Whitney Stewart, Brittney Stewart (David), nineteen great-grandchildren: Johnathan Williams, Tracey Williams Jr., Nadja Knox, Jabari Knox, Marques Wilson, Desmon Simmons, Taylor Bradley Carter (Henry), Troy Bradley Jr., Antoinette Williams, Kameron Sydnor, Kendall McLemore, Kyra Williams, DaKoby Simmons, Mia Knox, Nia Knox, Khloe White, Bryon Ray Jr., two great-great grandchildren Aiden Bradley, and Hudson Bradley.
