Obituary

Funeral Services will be held at the Abundant Life Church on Ben Drive in Natchitoches, LA Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 a. m. with burial following in the St. Luke Cemetery. There will be no wake. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Mr. Milbert Dorsey of Natchitoches, Louisiana passed away on May 8, 2011. He was born February 9, 1949 to the parentage of the late Mr. Gus Dorsey and Mrs. Vera Lee Ratliff Dorsey. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Alma; two brothers, Gus Dorsey and Bubba Dorsey. Milbert was a skilled fisherman, huntsman and one who could fix almost anything. He was respected as a hard-working gentleman who retired from MARTCO. His spiritual journey first led him to confessing a belief in God as His Savior and uniting with the St. Luke Baptist Church. At the time of his passing, Brother Dorsey had become a part of the fellowship of the Abundant Life International Ministry and confessed a calling to the Ministry as a Preacher of Gods word under the pastorage of Rev. Steven Harris, Sr. He leaves to mourn a wife, Shiela Dorsey; two children, Sulanda Dorsey of Houston, TX and Britany Falcon of Monroe, LA; six grandchildren, Quintin Dorsey, Tawanna Dorsey, Kerry Casson, Jr., Latin Washington of Houston, TX, KaCierra and Jewlz Edwards of Carrollton, TX and one great grandchild, Madisyn Danielle Dorsey; three sisters, Lola V., Eula V. and Irene Dorsey; four brothers, Lawrence, David, Louis and Matina all of Natchitoches, LA; and some very special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
