We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Ms. Merchele Chretien, of Shreveport, La.THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF AN "ANGEL" MERCHELE JENITHA CHRETIEN Merchele Jenitha Chretien , affectionately known as "Micki" to her family and friends. Merchele was born October 19,1967 to the late Merculus Jerome Chretien; and Anita Pattra Chretien. Merchele was a graduate of Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, LA (1985). She received an Associate Degree in Graphic Art Design, Lake Charles, LA and a certification in Medical Coding from Remington College. However, her loving passion was culinary arts as she truly enjoyed cooking….inevitably moving her to the creation of her business Creole Soul Café' where she dedicated timeless weekends preparing tasty and delightful meals for lots of family, friends and the community. Micki truly loved her maternal grandmother, Ophelia V. McDaniel, who preceded her in death of whom she became a relentless caregiver to for many years. Remembering her dearly are her two sons who love her deeply: Devin J. Chretien (Baby Love) of Shreveport, LA and Kameron D. Hayes (Baby Boy) of Junction City, Kansas; her mother Anita P. Chretien; paternal grandmother, Olena Chretien ; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, church family and customers.
