Maxine T. Sanderford A retired nurse's aide, she died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 80 and a native of Bunkie. Visiting at Greene's Chapel A.M.E. on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. James W. Palmer. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by her husband, O.B. Sanderford; three daughters, Olivia Sanderford, Debra Ingalise and Deidre Sanderford; three sons, Herbert, Earl and Marion Sanderford; two sisters, Dorothy Williams and Marjorie Hosea; and four brothers, Mack Roy, James, Phinley and Franklin Thomas. Preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Thomas; father, Lem Thomas; brothers, Lem Jr. and Harry Leonard; and grandson, Jason Sanderford. Pallbearers will be Herbert Sanderford, Earl Sanderford, Marion Sanderford, Earl Cameron Sanderford, Steven Davis and Cedric Labounda. Honorary pallbearers are Mack Roy Thomas, James Thomas, Phinley Thomas, Franklin Thomas, Fernando Thomas and Kirk Patterson. Mrs. Sanderford was a wonderful seamstress, an excellent cook, a loving mother, a dedicated wife and a devout Christian.
