Marvin Hunter Dorsey A U.S. Postal Service carrier and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center. He was 44, a native of Woodville, Miss., and U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, on Tuesday, July 1, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Visiting at New St. John Baptist Church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon., conducted by the Rev. W. Marshall Myles. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Pamela H. Dorsey; father and mother, Joseph M. Sr. and Bernice H. Dorsey; two sisters, Shelia Dorsey and Carol Dorsey-Williams; two brothers, Joseph M. Jr. and Ethan Dorsey; mother-in-law, Janice Hamilton; father-in-law, Washington Hamilton; brothers-in-law, Terry and Clifford Hamilton; and sisters-in-law, Tammie Ozcakir and Felicia Johnson. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Moses and Patience Smith and Edward and Maxine Dorsey. He was a graduate of Southern University A&M College and a member of Phoenix Lodge 226, P.H.A.
