Obituary

A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died Thursday, January 17, 2008, at 1:20 a.m. at our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 82 and a native of Darlington. Visiting at Winnfield FUneral Home on Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Gordon Feltus Lezard Cathedral (Saintsville) on Monday, January 21, 2008 from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by Bishop James E. Gordon. Interment in Bell Cemetery. Survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Alma Sterling, Edie White, and Ethel and Clarence Davis.; seven sons, and six daughters-in-law, Leo and Rhonda Davis, Jr., the Rev. Clyde and Catherine Davis, Ronald and Sharone Davis, Sr., Jerry Davis, Darrell and Nedra Davis, Tony and Jeanean Davis, the Rev. Earl Jr. and Lawanda Wheeler; four sisters, Evelyn Coleman, Lucille Taylor, Creola Taylor and Yvonne Scott; brother and sister-in-law, Emmitt Jr. and Mattie Wright; special granddaughter, Tiara Williams, 37 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, and four great-great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Leo Davis, Sr.; mother, Mary Wright; father, Emmitt Wright, Sr.; son, Julius Davis; and brother, Pentiss Wright.
