A resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet, at age 67. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Tommy St. Pierre. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by her daughters, Tonda Martin, and Jacanda Martin and spouse Johnny Holland; sisters, Miriam Freeman and Gwendolyn Sims; brothers, Cornelius Betz Jr. and Rodrick Betz; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Jace and Jaidyn. Preceded in death by her father, Cornelius Betz Sr.; mother, Thelma Rowley Betz; grandmother, Lucinda Bradford Rowley; grandfather, Henry Rowley. She was a graduate of Southern University with bachelor's degree in 1964 in business education, master's degree in education in 1973, and master's degree plus 30.
