Funeral Services will be held at the Abundant Life Church on Ben Drive in Natchitoches Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. with burial following in the Lawrence Serenity Sanctum. Wake service will be held in the funeral home from 6 - 9 p. m. on the preceding Friday night. The Life Epitome of Mrs. Lola Mae Claiborne Demars God, in his infinite wisdom and glory, saw fit to call one of his own, Lola Mae Demars, from distress to serenity. Be still and know that I am God. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of need. Lola Mae Demars, born November 12, 1950, to the late Sister Ola Mae Claiborne and Joseph Claiborne. Lola confessed Christ at an early age at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. P. M. Gillie where she remained a member for many years. She later moved her membership to the Rock Island Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. Terrell Jones until her departure. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Ola Mae Claiborne, her father, Mr. Joseph Claiborne, her husband, Mr. Calvin Demars, her brother, William L. Jackson, her sister, Delores Claiborne, and grandson, Terrance Demars. Lola leaves to mourn her loving memories her four children, Marvin Demars (Karen) of Japan, Valerie Demars (Terry) of Natchitoches, LA, Bernard Demars (Erica) of Greenville, TX and Shekethia Claiborne of Natchitoches, LA; three sisters, Celestine Carter (Thomas) of Natchitoches, Ireece Nutt-Tatum (Johnny) of Houston, TX, and Linda Paige of Oakland, CA; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and many loyal relatives and friends.
