Funeral will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011, 11:00 a. m. at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Jordan Ferry. There will be no wake. The remains will lie in state at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. on the day of the service. Burial will take place at the New Hope #1 Baptist Church Cemetery, Hanna, LA. Mrs. Lillie V. Love Butler Miller was born January 12, 1922 in Hanna, Louisiana to the parentage of the late Mr. Billy (Calhoun) Butler and Mrs. Lizzie Pye Butler. She was the fourth of seven children which blessed this union. She was called from earthly labor to her heavenly reward on June 13, 2011 at the Christus-Coushatta Hospital. Mrs. Miller was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Willie Miller December 6, 1939 and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage ended with his death January 31, 1989. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mr. Willie Miller.; two sons, Mr. Willie Lee Miller and Mr. Elbert Miller, five of her siblings, Mrs. Alzora Taylor, Mrs. Sarah Bryant, Mr. A. C. Robinson, Mr. J. B. Robinson and Mrs. Meater Leon. This loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Evergreen Baptist Church of the Jordan Ferry community in her youth under the spiritual leadership of Rev. C. Palmer. Prior to her health declining she was an active member of that congregation. Mrs. Miller received her education at the hands of dedicated teachers in the former one-room school of yesteryear. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Mr. Willie Odie Miller (Bobbie) of Milpitas, CA, Mr. Melvin Miller (Betty) of Coushatta, LA; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Courtney (Carl) of Natchitoches, LA, Mrs.Versie Coatney of Natchitoches, LA, Mrs. Gladys Green (Arnold) of Coushatta, LA and Ms. Eunice Miller of Coushatta, LA; one brother, Mr. Robert Butler (Helen) of Shreveport, LA; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Hazel Miller; twenty-nine grandchildren; sixty-six great grandchildren and eleven great, great, grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
