Lena L. Gates was born in Plain Dealing, Louisiana on August 18, 1925 to Charles Thomas and Roxana Booler Thomas. She departed this life on June 16, 2017. She joined the Bossier Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a devoted member of the choir. She continued to attend until her health restricted her, Lena retired from the Bossier Parish school Board. Lena will most be remembered for her talent in the kitchen. She could take a few simple ingredients and turn it into a masterpiece. She'd leave you lickin' your fingers and asking for more! There's an open gate at the end of the road. Through which each must go alone, and there is light we cannot sees Our Father claims his own. Beyond the gate your loved one finds happiness and rest, and there is comfort in the thought, that a loving God knows best. She is preceded in death by her husband Cornelius Gates, one son: Otis Harris.
