Obituary

We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. LeAndres Brooks, Sr., 53 of Shreveport, La. LeAndres Brooks, Sr., affectionately know as "Lee" was born June 29, 1964 to the late Arthur Lee Rose "Pokey" and Iva Mae Brooks "Mae Mae". Lee accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of Pastor Exi Hollis at Solid Foundation Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, California. Lee graduated from C.E. Byrd High School, Class of 1982. He decided to broaden his horizons by joining the United States Army in 1983. His duty assignment was at 515th Engineer Company at Fort Leonard Wood. He also attended Commercial Arts and Drayan Business College in 1987. In 1989, he met the love of his life, Gloria Jean Priest. From that union came four biological children: Andrea, Dyshina, LeAndres, Jr. and Brianna and five bonus children: Diane, Bryant, Britney, Terrence and Tyrese. Lee was also blessed by God with eight grandchildren; two biological: A'Nyla and Kai'Von and six bonus: Javarion, Jamarcia, Deashia, Tabious, Ashunte and DeAuntez, whom he loved dearly. He truly enjoyed sharing his wisdom, love and knowledge with each of them. In 2002, Tony Ervin entered Lee's life. This encounter developed into a lifelong Father-Son relationship. Lee loved Tony and took him in his heart as one of his own children. Tony loved and respected Lee as his very father. Although Lee did not have any biological siblings, God blessed him wht many special friends throughout his life that were like his very own brothers and sisters. Walter Pinkston, Donna Jones Hassan, Willie Young, Crystal Crawford and O.B. Washington, brought him so much joy, wisdom, laughter, strength and support. These relationships span a timeline of 30 plus years. He loved them all immensely. Yet again, Lee found love. He married Carolina Harrison on October 15, 2015. To that union, he was blessed with three additional bonus children: Caroline, Korina and Colleen. The bible states in II Thessalonians 3:10 "If any would not work neither should he eat", LeAndres took this scripture to heart. Upon his departure from his earthly home, Lee worked as a Well Treatment Pump Operator-Oil Field Services in Shreveport, Louisiana. Throughout his life he wore many hats. He worked as a salesman, mechanic, carpenter, construction worker and he was an entrepreneur. Lee had many special interests. He enjoyed physical fitness, listening to music, mostly gospel, and having meaningful conversations, where he would teach knowledge and also be taught knowledge. One of his most precious interest, was reading and learning God's Word. Lee loved spending time with his family and friends. His laughter and his bright smile would light up any room. Lee loved being outdoors. Fishing was a great pass time for him. He also loved to build and create with his hands. He was a great thinker, extremely smart and wise beyond his years. His best friend and companion was his dog Bruno. Bruno served as a constant, loving motivator. Their love for one another was unconditional. Lee had a special relationship with each of his children. He loved to laugh, talk, cry, debate, pray with and for them. Their bond was getting stronger and stronger day by day. Lee's children all served as a special spark in his life. He was such a proud and grateful father/grandfather. This unconditional love will last an eternity. Lee was adored and very much loved by his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his amazing memories: thirteen children; eight grandchildren; five special friends; one aunt: Diane Brooks; and a host of relatives and friends. Lee leaves a legacy that will continue on in our hearts. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mr. LeAndres Brooks,Sr., please visit our floral store.
