Larry Gene Lenius, 74, passed away at his home, Monday evening, July 4, 2016. Larry was born in Vinton, Iowa to Harold and Janette Oliver Lenius. He worked as a business consultant for the funeral and insurance industry. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and grandfather. Larry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in the Strategic Air Command division. He attended University of Houston and graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1979. Larry loved to work. He was a golf-enthusiast, a passionate reader and learner, and enjoyed being a recreational pilot. He is survived by his father Harold Lenius of Winnsboro, Texas, his wife Llonda Lenius of Hemphill, his 2 sons: Richard Lenius and wife Sarah of Winnsboro, Texas and Blair Smith and wife Tracy of Shreveport, Louisiana, his 3 daughters: Sheri Schwemm and husband Craig of Tripoli, Iowa, Renee Hamilton and husband Ron of Wharton, Texas, and Breanna Haddock and husband Aaron of Tyler, Texas, his 2 sisters: Barbara Hewett and husband Tom of Fountain, Colorado and Suzanne Calhoun and husband Fred of Sanger, Texas, and his 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Janette Oliver Lenius and his son Bret Lenius. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday 6:30P.M.-, July 12, 2016, at Winnfield Funeral Home of Shreveport, 3701 Hollywood Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana.
