A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Wakefield, she died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Heritage House at age 87. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, on Monday, May 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1915 Fairchild St., on Tuesday at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Eddie Sulcer. Interment in Sherobee Cemetery, Jackson. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Carter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Juanita Carter and minister James and Theresa Carter, all of Baton Rouge; son-in-law, T.C. Carter, of Baton Rouge; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carter Sr.; two daughters, Pleasant Carter and Nellie Carter; and parents, Joseph and Lettie Netter. She was the last survivor of 21 siblings.
