Joseph McCall was born on February 3, 1937 in Dilly, Texas to parents William McCall and Alice Bryant-McCall. By the age of 12, Joseph was known for his sense of humor, love for fishing, trucks, and even learned how to operate cattle and logging trucks in Mansfield, Louisiana. Joseph attended Greater Elizabeth Baptist Church for many years under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Melvin Dodson and served as an usher. Joseph became a professional truck driver and retired after 35 years of service at Thornton Industries. Joseph met Virginia Loveless-McCall in 1965 and to date have been married for 47 years.
Joseph was preceded in death by William McCall (Father), Alice Bryant-McCall (Mother), Frank Lee McCall (Pearl), Wesley Lee McCall (Mary Ann), David McCall, Rosie Mae Turner, Gertrude McCall-Howsley (Frank), and Ardis McCall (Patricia).
Joseph was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Ari Miracle Elizabeth McCall (daughter of Tangela) and a special sister in law, Patricia Carol Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife: Virginia Loveless-McCall; daughters: Trina McCall-Coleman (Ken), Tangela McCall, Elena McCall-Ireland (Henry), Bertha Roundtree; sons: Roland Ellis (Remona), Reginald Ellis (Pam); two Special Sisters in Law: Mary Ann White-McCall (Wesley), Patricia Ann Burns; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives, and friends.
