John Anthony Levy, 70, of Shreveport, LA, passed away December 21st, 2023 after declining health at Heritage Manor Stratmore in Shreveport, LA.

Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Shreveport, LA, Friday, January 5th at 11:00 am with the Repass immediately following at the church center. The Wake will be held at Winnfield Funeral Home Shreveport, LA, Thursday, January 4th from 6-8 pm.

John was born in Shreveport, LA to Frank and Dorothy Levy on 02/01/1953. He went to high school at Notre Dame High School and graduated in 1971. He worked for the railroad and then went on to become an educator and coach where he enjoyed mentoring young students. He enjoyed sports, telling jokes and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his twin brother, Joseph Levy, brother Don Levy; children, Joseph and Jon Levy, Detrick and Damarcus Mays, and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorothy Levy; brother, Frank Levy; sister, Deborah Washington, and children, John and Dorothy Levy

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Heritage Manor Stratmore, Lifepath Hospice, Winnfield Funeral Home and everyone who cared for John during his final few years.

John was a caring man whose one liner jokes will greatly be missed.
