Shreveport, Louisiana - Funeral service for Mr. Joe T. Lewis age 56, will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 11 a.m., at Winnfield Funeral Home. Eulogy Minister Earl Williams. Interment Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Keithville, Louisiana. Joe Lewis, was born in Flint, Michigan. He honorably served his country in the United States Army for seventeen years. He was a faithful employee with the United State Postal Service and later the Overton Brooks V.A. Medical Center where he retired on January 1, 2010. On July 20, 2010, Joe T. Lewis departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his father. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Emma L. Horton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two daughters, Latoya Frazer (Dedric), Lakysha Lewis; five grandchildren; two brothers Michael Horton (Maxzine) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Titus Horton (Vickie) of Tuscaloosa, Albama; one sister, Daphane Pipkins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two aunts, Geirgua Blackmon (Johnny) of Pensacola, Floria, Leonia Carr of Flint, Michigan, a host of friends, Alfred and Lillie Snow, Raymond and Constance Leary of Shreveport, Louisiana; special friend, Lucy Alexander; his bowling team, co-workers and family of the Overton Brooks V.A.
