Funeral Services for Mr. Irchirl will be held at the Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 a. m. with public visitation in the funeral home parlor the preceding Friday from 6 - 9 p. m. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Serenity Sanctum. Joe Irchirl, Sr. was born the only child to the union of Joe Irchirl and Henrietta Cox Irchirl August 15, 1920 in Cypress, LA. He was reared along with another sibling. Later in life he confessed Christ and was baptized under the fellowship of the Goodwill Baptist Church. Joe served as a 1st Sergeant in the armed forces during World War II. After coming back from the war in 1944, he started his own sanitation business for the City of Natchitoches until the city took over the business in 1969. Joe Irchirl, Sr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. In May of 1943, he was united in Matrimony to Mildred Flanagan Irchirl. On August 27, 2010 at the age of 90, his life came to an end at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his mother (Henrietta Cox Irchirl), father (Joe Irchirl) and two sons (Vernon Ray and Christopher Irchirl). He leaves to mourn his memories: his wife, Mrs. Mildred Irchirl; one step brother, Carey Hudson, Jr., five sons, Joe Irchirl, Jr., (Johnnie)of Natchitoches, LA, Morrin Irchirl, Leroy Irchirl, Sr., Terry Irchirl, Sr., and Calvin Irchirl all of Houston, TX; five daughters, Joe Marilyn Marks of Los Angeles, CA, Linda Alston of Denver, CO, Betty Ensley (Marshall) and Josephine Oliver (Kirk) both of Houston, TX and Barbara Madyun (Amir) of Elizabethtown, KY. He also leaves to cherish his memories 32 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
