Janice Brown Efferson was born November 29, 1944 in Frierson,
Louisiana to Ben F. Brown, Sr. and Hattie Mae Fuller Brown.
She was a graduate from Second Ward High School. Then later, Janice
graduated from American School of Business. Most of her employ-
ment years were at Western Electric which later became AT&T. Dur-
ing Janices retirement years, she was a caregiver.
Her hobbies were flower gardening, studying black history, and coin
collecting. In her spare time, she enjoyed jumble puzzles.
As a young adult, Janice recognized a need for God. She attended
Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Shreveport, LA.
Later, through a church planting initiative, she transferred to Memorial
SDA Church in Mansfield, LA where she served many years. From
there, she joined Cedar Grove SDA Church in Shreveport, LA.
Janice was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ben F. Brown, Sr.
and Hattie Mae Fuller Brown; three brothers: Othelo Brown, Rufus
Raleigh Brown, Theron Alva "Luther" Brown; a sister, Flora Mae Jen-
kins; and a sister-in-law, Vassie Brown.
Cherishing her memories are: daughters, Agetha (Leotis) Richardson,
Wooster, Arkansas and Patrice (Eric) Rachal-Hall, Houston, Texas;
three grandchildren: Ty Agesha Pratt, Leotis "Richie" Richardson, IV,
and Sabre Agayla Hall; sister, Betty Jean (Wiley) White, Shreveport,
Louisiana; brothers, Ben (Martha) Franklin Brown, Jr. and Marcus
Lewellyn Brown, Shreveport, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Elzenia Brown,
Shreveport, LA; aunt, Marie Fuller, and nieces, nephews, and cousins
