A retired city-parish employee and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 77 and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, from noon until service at 1 p.m. Burial in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by a daughter, Shiline Jones, Baton Rouge; five sons, Ivory Jr., Oliver, Eddie, Darrell Sr. and wife Lisa, and Felton Jones, all of Baton Rouge; sister, Vira Kleinpeter, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Emmitt and Felton Jones, both of Baton Rouge, and Matthew Jones Jr., Florida; stepdaughter, Mary Ringo, Houston; stepsons, Oscar Walker and wife Dawn, and Donald Young, all of Baton Rouge; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Annie Jones; daughter, Gloria Jones; father and mother, Matthew Sr. and Sarah Jones.
