Services for Mr.Issac Lee Brinson are set for Friday, January 7, 2011 with visitation from 6-9 PM at the Winnfield Funeral Home. Services will follow on Saturday, January 8,2011 in the Tommy G. Hamms Memorial Chapel located at 117 Martin Luther King Jr Drive.Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery located on Old Alexandria Road in the Cedar Community.Services are entrusted to Winnfield Funeral Home of Winnfield,LA. Isaac Lee Brinson was born on May 16, 1949 in Winnfield,La to the union of R.J. Brinson Sr. & Cora Lee Swafford. He departed this life on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Overton Brooks Veterans Hospital in Shreveport,La. His mother,father,sister Velma Alexander, two brothers-R.J. Brinson Jr. & Lester Lee Brinson, and one half-brother,Chester Brinson preceded him in death. Isaac 'Ike' was baptized by Rev.Albert Patterson at Cedar Grove Baptist Church at an early age. When moving to New Orleans, he joined Tulane Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Gerald Young. He is a 1967 graduate of Pinecrest High School, in Winnfield,La. He was a Veteran or the U.S. Army. Ike will be remembered by the joy he received from giving to others,especially small children. Left to mourn his passing are two sisters: Thelma D. Walker, Shreveport,La and Sylvia Spratt of Chesapeake, Va: four brothers: Freddie J and Jeffrey Brinson of Shreveport; Ardonul Brinson of Natchitoches,La; and James E. Brinson of New Orleans; three brother-in-laws: Hayward Alexander, Arvene Spratt, Jr., and Johnny Booker; Sisters-in-law; Luncinda, Donna, Joyce, Sandra and Nancy and three half sisters; Gloria West, Annie Booker, and Connie Brinson; one Aunt Eula Mae Hill; and two uncles; Marshall Swafford and Artis Swafford. 'Ike' was surrounded by the love of all his nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand which are to numerous to list. He will also be remembered by a host of relatives and friends.
