Funeral Services will be celebrated at the Asbury United Methodist Church,, 704 5th Street, Natchitoches, LA on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 a. m. Allen was born in Summitt, MS March 8, 1915 to the union of the late Fred and Berthella Allen. He is a graduate of the Pike County Agricultural Training School in Magnolia, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister: Freddie Allen, Bernard Allen, Buford Allen, Roy Allen, Wilbert Allen and Velma Allen Ross. Harold joined the United States Army where he served twenty years. He then met and married the love of his life, Fannie Mariah Demery on September 17, 1957. To this union no children were born. He joined Emmanuel Chapel United Methodist Church along with his wife and served as a faithful member until his health failed. After retirement from the U. S. Army, he worked as a carpet salesman until a second retirement. He loved fishing, hunting and traveling and he was a happy and funny fellow. He never felt like a stranger. He loved talking and joking with people and he was a kind person who made his house yours. No matter who you were, you were always welcome and he will be long remembered by many. He leaves to celebrate his memories his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Fannie Demery Allen, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Geraldine Allen and Mrs. Gertis Demery, one brother-in-law, Mr. Clemon Demery, Jr. along with a number of nieces and nephews.
