Frances 'Fran' Marie Smith Bergeron, a retired employee of the State of Louisiana, Department of Fraud and Recovery State Social Services Division, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Hammond, LA passed on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center - Bluebonnet. She was 67. Frances was a graduate of Capital High School and Grambling State University with Bachelors of Psychology. She received her Masters Degree in Educational Counseling from Southern University. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, begins at 8:30AM until religious services at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 22, 2010 conducted by Apostle T.D. Collins (Atlanta, GA) with interment immediately following in Winnfield Memorial Park. Frances leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Lanzie Francis Bergeron, III and his wife, Monica L. Cheney-Bergeron of Baton Rouge, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Julia Smith and a brother Harry Smith.
