Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Powell, Jr., age 56, of Winnfield, La., will be held Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Winnfield Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Hamms officiating. Interment will follow in the Transport Cemetery near Dodson, La. Visitation is Friday morning from 8:00 A.M. until time of service. Mr. Powell, a logger, passed Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 , in the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. Mr. Powell is survived by: his wife, Sameria Powell of Winnfield, La; three(3) sons, Floyd Powell, Jason Pearrie, and Jarrad Pearrie, all of Winnfield, La; two(2) daughters, Oneter Powell of Seattle, Wa; and Rosie Walker of Winnfield, La; his father, Floyd Powell, Sr. of Quitman, La; three(3) brothers, Floyd Powell of Conroe, Tx; Bobby Powell of Winnfield, La; and Author Hollingsworth of Dodson, La; two(2) sisters, Glenda Walker of Dodson, La; and Vickie Williams of Quitman, La. Mr. Powell is also survived by four(4) grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
