A resident of Baton Rouge, she died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 73 and a native of Galveston, Texas. Visiting at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6380 Hooper Road, on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Alec Sheldon. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by her daughters, Ruby Reed, Sandra Carter and husband James, Lori Melton Larry, Sharon Chambers and husband Lionel, and Cynthia Chambers; son, Spellman Chambers; sisters, Voila Charles and Hattie Tinsons; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
