Obituary

Obituary of Mrs. Fannie Neal Holden Services for Mrs. Fannie Neal Holden will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the St. Savior Baptist Church of Grand Ecore at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in the Shady Grove Community Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. She was born in Sabine Parish March 4, 1912 to the late S. T. and Julia Neal. She departed this life December 3, 2009 at the Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Holden received Christ at an early age and became a member of the St. Savior Baptist Church (Grand Ecore) where she served faithfully on the Usher Board and in the choir until her health began to fail. Sister Holden was also honored with serving as the Mother of the Churchs congregation. She was married to the late Roosevelt Holden and their union was blessed with six children. Preceding her in death were her husband, Roosevelt and her son, Elbert. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Vera Lee Nicholas (John) and Gladys Rogers (John) both of Natchitoches, James Holden (Georgia) Minneapolis, Minnesota LA, Jay B. Holden (Rose Marie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Joseph T. Holden of Natchitoches, LA. Additional relatives include a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
