Funeral services for Eula V. Pierce age 95 of Natchitoches will be held Saturday April 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Joseph Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Eula V. Elam Pierce was born to the parentage of the late Jency Shelby and Joseph Quarles Elam. She departed this life on March 25, 2009 at Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA. She was reared in Natchitoches Parish. Although her formal education was limited she was a shrewed business woman. She knew how to stretch a dollar. She was an entreprenaur, raising cotton, cattle and various produce to support herself. She did quite well. Eula was baptized at an early age and was a member of St. Luke B.C. in the St. Luke community. She was preceded in death by her seven siblings, her husband, stepson and a nephew she helped to rear and loved dearly.
