Obituary

A retired registered nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center with 30 years of service and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011. She was 89 and a native of St. Matthews, S.C. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Religious service at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church on Friday at 9 a.m., conducted by the Rev. S.C. Dixon. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by her daughters, Annie Ruth Revere, of Columbia, S.C., Sandra Mathes, Baton Rouge, Joan Mathes and Carolyn Butler; sons, Wilbert Donell Mathes, Jerome Mathes and Broderick Mathes; sister, Mary Davis; brothers, Joshua Davis, Nalton Davis and Nathaniel Davis; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Walter T.
