Obituary

'Mother' was born on January 16, 1930 in White Castle, Louisiana, to the union of Phillip and Magnolia Skinner. She departed this life Sunday August 29, 2010 surrounded by her family. She loved to sing in the gospel chorus at New Ark Baptist Church were she was a faithful member for over 30 years. A retiree from the EBR Parish School System. 'Mother' leaves to cherishe her memories, her former husband and good friend, Moses Cooper of Baton Rouge, La; (5) Daughters: NettieIron Pickens, Of Oakdale, La, Diane Iron Ellis (Clarence), Joyce Iron Cobbins, Dorothy Yvonne Iron and Patricia Lynn Iron; (3) Sons: Willie Iron, Jr., Ronald Iron (Patsy) and Terry Iron (Yvonne); her first grandson whom she reared, Marcus Iron (Thelma) all of Baton Rouge; (15 grand-children, (17) great- grandchildren, and (5) great-great grandchildren; a neice, Sharon Taylor of Reno, Nevada; and a host of other relatives and very dear friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Phillip and Magnolia Skinner; (2) brothers: Freddie Skinner and Milton Taylor; (2) aunts, a son-in-law: Ocie Pickens, Sr., and her beloved daughter, Barbara Iron Myles.
