Funeral Services for Mrs. Dora Lee Williams Bush will be held at the Shady Grove Baptist Church Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. with burial following in the Shady Grove Community Cemetery. A wake service will be convened at the Shady Grove Church on Monday evening, March 22, 2010 from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. under the direction of the Winnfield Funeral Home. Arrangements can be viewed and condolences sent on line at www.winnfieldfuneralhomes.com On July 12, 1916 a beautiful baby girl was born to Isabell Green Williams and Adam Williams; Dora Lee who was the third of six children. Two brothers, Dan Williams and Jack Williams and two sisters Virda Lee Williams and Ola Mae Holden preceded her in death. Dora Lee accepted Christ at an early age and united with North Star Baptist Church of Powhatan, Louisiana. She and Mr. George Bush, Sr. united in Holy Matrimony on March 30, 1933. Out of this union, they had four girls and four boys. They relocated to the Shady Grove community a few years after they wed and united with the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until death. Dora Lee faithfully served as a cook in the food service industry at Shady Grove and Robeline schools in Natchitoches Parish until she retired. Dora Lee leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Mary Bush Burrell of Houston, Texas, Loretha Bush Taylor of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Louise Bush McNair (Cleveland) of Houston, Texas, and Renea Bush Slater of Stone Mountain, Georgia; three sons, John Lee Bush (Pauline) of Austin, Texas, Edward Arthur Bush of Houston, Texas, and Cornelius Clint Bush (Janice) of Missouri City, Texas; one son, George, Jr., preceded her in death. One brother, Johnny D. Williams (Jimmie) of Powhatan, Louisiana; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dora Lee will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
