Deborah Ann “Linda Faye “ Jones

April 13, 1953 — April 19, 2026

Shreveport

Deborah Ann Jones was born on April 13, 1953, to the union of Paul Jones, Sr., and Curley B.

Hudson Jones. Affectionately known as "Linda Faye", she was the youngest of nine children, bringing a final ray of light to a large and loving household.

Deborah accepted Christ at an early age and began her lifelong spiritual journey at Morning Star Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana. A faithful servant, she lent her beautiful voice to the Morning Star Angelic Chorus and the Mass Choir for over 50 years. Her heart for the next generation was evident through her service as a Choir Mother for the Tot's Choir, and her gift of hospitality shone brightly during her many years on the Hospitality Committee.

Beyond her home church, Deborah was a pioneer member of the Shreveport Mass Choir in the early 1990s, sharing the gospel through song across the community.

Deborah was educated in the Caddo Parish Public School system and was a proud 1971 graduate of Bethune High School. Known for her skilled hands and warm heart, Deborah's hobbies included playing softball, cooking, and singing. She turned her love for cooking into a career, working for many years as a cook for local establishments and private homes. Her commitment to others extended into advocacy, where she served as an advisory board member for the Shreveport branch of the Families Helping Families Support Group in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

On April 19, 2026, Deborah departed this life to claim her eternal reward. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Curley B. Jones; her sisters, Beaulah Jones Kelley and Margaret Nell Jones Roberts; and her brothers, Wallace Wright and Paul Jones, Jr.
