Obituary

OBITUARY Sister Clora Reddic was born in the Spanish Lake Community on October 2, 1905. She was one of twelve children born to the late Henry and Carrie Calhoun. At an early age, Sister Reddic accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and she united with the Evergreen Baptist Church in Spanish Lake. She remained an active member of Evergreen until she left the area to live in Kilgore, Texas, and later Oakland, California. It was in Oakland that she married Jesse Reddic, her husband of over 30 years. The couple bought a home, became active in their community, and worked until retirement at Colgate Palmolive, Inc. While in California, Sister Reddic united with a neighborhood church where she worked faithfully as an usher. Upon retirement, the couple returned to this area and reunited with the Evergreen Baptist Church. She resumed an active membership in the church until her health began to fail. Her husband and siblings preceded her in death. Sister Reddic leaves many devoted nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Services for Sister Reddic will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 8, 2009 in the chapel of Winnfield Funeral Home. Visitation with precede the services from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tucker Hunter is the officiant.
