Obituary

We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Charles E. Cawthorne 67, of Shreveport, La. Charles E. Cawthorne was born August 25, 1950 to Walter and Sylvia L. Cawthorne in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the youngest of seven children. Len, as a better known name for Charles, was baptized into Christ as a young man. He was a member of the Shady Grove #2 Baptist Church. As he got older he returned to Jesus and dedicated his life to God, his family and his fellowman. Len was a blessing to everyone he met and was a joy to be around. His words of wisdom and his shining example has encouraged and assisted many young men. Len enjoyed cooking and feeding others. He, like most of his siblings are excellent cooks. He also enjoyed taking pictures, fishing, gardening and raising chickens. He was a help to everyone who needed it, even if they did not ask for help. He was a good father and cared deeply for his children and grandchildren. He married JoAnne Sloane on July 30, 2009. He was the father of five girls. He also had 14 grandchildren. He also acted as a father for Willie Cawthorne son, Kervin. The family thanks God every day for the time he allowed us to spend with his child and we know he is gone to sleep in a better place, waiting for the trumpet call to awake the saints to glory. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and five brothers. He leaves to celebrate his life, wife, JoAnne; five daughters, Shonda, Sandra, Myhesha, Octavia, and Mariah; surrogate son, Kervin (Q), fourteen grandchildren, one great-grand child, one brother, Leroy (Vivian), one sister, Hazel and an extremely large host of relatives and friends Please keep the Cawathorne Family lifted in your prayers.
