OBITUARY For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:6- 8 Celia Gay Lucas, known affectionately as Mudear and 'Mother Lucas,' was born to Menar Holden Gay and Elisha Gay, November 27, 1923 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age, and joined Friendship Baptist Church in 1938, where she was baptized by Rev. Williams. She remained a faithful member under the leadership of several pastors for more than seventy years until her faith in God and guidance by the Holy Spirit led her to join Living Word Ministries, where she was known as Mother Lucas, under Pastor A. Holdens leadership; she remained a member there until her demise. She worked in many areas of Natchitoches, including KNOC Radio Station, Revere Inn Hotel, and Teleco Communication Cable.
