Funeral services for Bennie Lucas will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley R. Mathis, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories under the direction of Winnfield Funeral Home, Alexandria. Bennie, 52, was called home by Our Heavenly Father Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in Dallas, Texas due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He graduated from Bolton High School in 1974 with honors. He also served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Lucas, Sr., stepfather, Earl Williams, paternal grandparents, Almo and June Lucas, and maternal grandparents, Levi White and Leola Beudoin. He leaves to cherish his fond memories two daughters, Jessie Lucas and Latonya (Leslie) Sarpy, his mother, Joann Williams; four grandchildren, all of Alexandria; two sisters, Clydia (Samuel) Liggins of Alexandria and Joyce (Leroy) Sykes of Woodworth; nine brothers, Clarence (Velma) Lucas, Jr., Almo (Evelyn) Lucas, Levi (Bertha) Lucas, Earl (Vessie) Lucas, Sr., Leroy Lucas Sr., all of Dallas, Texas. Rev. James (Frances ) Lucas, Edward (Brenda) Lucas, Johnnie Williams, all of Alexandria and Larry Lucas of Natchitoches; a host of very special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
