Obituary

Ashten Jordan Wilcox, 23, of Shreveport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born on Friday, April 27, 2001 in Shreveport, the son of Wyndal and Johnessa Wilcox. As a kid, he enjoyed playing baseball and video games. He attended Huntington High School as a freshman, where he was a member of the band and played tuba. He then attended and graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 2019. As an adult, he was a peaceful, laidback person who loved playing his video games, often with his brothers. He loved playing basketball, bowling, and going out with his family, whether to the movies or to enjoying a special bite to eat, especially seafood. He was big on celebrations and wanted everybody to be happy! Like his mom and dad, Ashten definitely enjoyed listening to his music. Even more, just like his dad, he loved to listen to his music nice and loud and on good sound systems, so he could hear and feel all the details of his music collection! And like his mom, Ashten got down on the dance floor as he loved to dance! And had a blast doing dance challenges with his mom!

Post high school, Ashten worked as a Dialysis Escort at the Willis Knighton Pierremont hospital for 5 and a half years. He was well-liked and respected by his coworkers, doctors, and his manager, Kimmerly Walker. He had a friendly, easy-going, and witty personality. There was an aura of peace about Ashten. He was resilient in the midst of a storm. Ashten is survived by his parents Wyndal and Johnessa of Shreveport; his older brother Joshua, his baby brother Cameron, who was his inseparable best friend, and his half-brother Chris. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, JoAnn Walker, also of Shreveport. He is survived by his close lifelong friend Kobe Oliver, who was like a brother from a different mother. He is also survived by his very special friend, April Scott, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, nurses, doctors, and a host of friends and family. He was so loving, loyal, compassionate, and full of integrity. He always stood up for others, even if he didn't know them. He always thought of others and how they would want to be treated. He always justified the good in people and in situations.

Ashten was adamant in his belief of treating people nicely and would let others know in a gentle but firm tone to be nice with their words and actions. At the end of the day, he just wanted everyone to be happy and live peacefully! Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Winnfield Funeral Home at 3701 Hollywood Ave. in Shreveport.
