Alpha Mae Barrett On July 9, 2017, a most precious and beautiful life came to an end when God's angel ushered Our Beloved home to a city built for the faithful in Christ. Our Beloved trusted and loved God with all she had to give. Our Beloved accepted Christ at an early age. As a faithful member of Walnut Hill St. Mary Baptist Church, She had such joy and pleasure teaching Sunday School. Our Beloved embraced and was passionate with spreading God's Word. In 1958, she married Ovra Lee Barrett, together they had nine children, Cleo, Ovra Jr., Victoria, Eric, Martha, Anna, Erica and Margie. She was the most devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the foundation of the family, the voice of reason and inspiration for us all. As a faithful servant of God., Our Beloved was our shining light for all things. She gave so much of herself to help and loving others. She gave us togetherness, joy and comfort when needed and her unconditional love was infinite. Her loving kind and gentle sprit remains with us in our hearts and minds although she has left this earthly place. She was preceded in death by her parents, Davis L. Jones Sr., and Marie r. Jones; children, Cleo Louise White and Alvin J. Barrett; and granddaughter, Amanda Dianne. Precious memories will be cherished by her husband, Ovra L. Barrett Sr., children, Ova L. Barrett Jr., Victoria L. Barrett, Martha E. Barrett, Eric L. Barrett, Anna M. Barrett, Erica D. Barrett Bolling; eighteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren; sibling, Maxine Ware, Doris Jones, Margie Jones and Louise Phillips: a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
