Funeral Services for Mrs. Alma Smith Morrow will be held Ssturday, March 6, 2010 at the Friendship Baptist Church on Bivens Street in Natchitoches, LA at High Noon. The family will receive friends at a wake service at the church on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m The quiet and service-filled life of Mrs. Alma Smith Morrow was caught up in the exchange of time for eternity Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Courtyard Convalescent Facility in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Smith and Mrs. Beulah Jackson Smith July 12, 1931 in Natchitoches Parish. She was the second of three children who blessed this union. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Mr. James Smith. The Natchitoches Parish Public School system formed the setting for her formal educational training. She attended the Natchitoches Parish Training School under the guidance of the late Professor J. W. Thomas and F. M. Richardson. She united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. I. Z. Morrow and four children became the fruit of this union, Mary Lou Morrow Beaudion, James Earl Morrow, Calvin Ray Morrow and Barbara Jean Morrow. Having a great concern for life beyond this earthly journey, Sister Alma Morrow accepted Christ as a personal Savior in her youth, was baptized and became a life-long member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She remained in dutiful service within that congregation in many different capacities until the Lord called her home for a higher work. Those who will forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Mrs. Mary Lou Morrow Beaudion, Mr. James Earl Morrow (Cynthia), Mr. Calvin Ray Morrow and Ms. Barbara Jean Morrow all of Natchitoches, LA; six grandchildren, Ramoned Morrow, Deverick Morrow, Marcus Sowell, Shanita Morrow, James Morrow, Jr. and Nicholas Beaudion; eleven great grand children, a classic example of an extended family including her devoted sister, Mrs. Zelma Perkins, and her three children Ms. Joyce Perkins, Mrs. Gloria Braxton (her husband Michael and son, Quincy), and Mr. Ronald Smith (Jocelyn) all of Natchitoches, LA; one God child, Mr. Jerry Morrow of Houston, TX., the Friendship Baptist Church Family and a host of other relatives and friends.
