We mourn the loss and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Albert Tuiel 63, of Shreveport, La.Reverend Albert Tuiel was born September 27, 1954 to the late Johnnie Tuiel and Doris Carter.
As a young boy, he accepted Christ and was baptized at the Shady Grove #2 Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Shilvers.
During his young childhood, he attended 81st Street Elementary School. He excelled in writing essays. Upon entering high school, Al found that it was not his pace and he left and went to Job Corps in San Marcos, Texas. He received his high school diploma and a trade quickly. Once Al finished Job Corp, he returned to Shreveport, Louisiana and married his teenage love.
Al immediately set off for life in the military. He had a quest to learn as much about ife as he could. He had a relentless drive for more knowledge and purpose. He often talked about how his ventures helped him to become the God fearing man he was.
In later years, working, studying and on life's journey alone, he met Mable Cockerham. On April 22, 1989, they were united in Holy Matrimony.
Reverend Tuiel accepted an appointment as a Deacon at the New Friendship Baptist Church in Caster, Louisiana. There he served faithfully, working with the youth department and was the mission teacher. Later, he accepted a calling into the preaching ministry. His first sermon was titled, "Church We Got To Do Something" from the book of Nehemiah. Reverend Tuiel was licensed and ordained in 1999. He received his Bachelor Degree in Theology in 2002 from United Theological Seminary and Bible College. He became a Bible Instructor at Good Shepard Theology School in 2015 and was a Sunday School Teacher at By Faith Living Word Ministry Church. Reverend Tuiel spent nights and morning praying, reading, studying and meditation on God's Word, that he may rightly divide the Word of Truth. Everyone he met, he wanted to make them smile, laugh and he shared with them God's Word. He was a motivator for the younger generation and was always humble in the presence of his elders. His time was spent telling people about the Love of Christ, his mercies, his forgiveness and all of His blessings. We are not perfect, but Christ is and is interceding for us now and He is coming back again.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, God called Reverend Tuiel from labor to rest.
